Know your citation share, not just your rank.
When someone asks an assistant a question in your category, one company gets named in the answer. Answer monitoring tracks how often that company is you, across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI, measured over time against your own buying questions.
Answer monitoring runs your own buying questions against the major AI assistants on a schedule, records who each one cites, and reports how your share of those citations moves over time.
The schema, entity and answer-structured work that earns citations is live and part of every SEO engagement. The tracking and optimisation layer on top is an emerging capability we are building out — real, but newer, and scoped honestly before you buy it. It sits alongside the AEO discipline.
Four readings, on your questions.
Not a generic keyword list. The questions your buyers actually ask, run against the assistants they actually use.
Citation share
For each of your buying questions, who the assistants name — and what proportion of the time it is you rather than a competitor or a directory.
Movement over time
The same question set, re-run on a schedule, so you see the trend rather than a single snapshot that could be noise.
Which assistant, which question
Cited by Perplexity but not ChatGPT? Named for one question and absent from the next? The cut that tells you where the work is.
Who is named instead
When it is not you, it is someone. Knowing whether it is a competitor, a distributor or a directory tells you what kind of fix it needs.
A number nobody acts on is just a number.
Monitoring is only worth running if it changes what you do. Each reading feeds the AEO work: where you are absent, we look at whether it is a schema gap, an entity problem, a missing answer on the page, or a lack of the third-party corroboration assistants trust.
So the report is not a dashboard you log into and forget. It is a monthly read on citation share with a specific next move attached, or an honest note that the foundation work needs longer to land.
Asked before it gets switched on.
Can you guarantee we will get cited?
No, and we will never claim we can. Nobody controls what an assistant says. What we can do is build the schema, entity and answer foundations that make citation possible, and measure honestly whether it is happening.
Why is this labelled emerging?
Because we are honest about maturity. The schema and answer-structured work underneath it is live and part of every SEO engagement. The citation tracking and optimisation layer is real, but it is newer, and we scope exactly what we can measure for you before you buy it.
How is citation share measured?
We run your own question set against the assistants on a schedule and record who each one names. It is your buying questions, not a generic keyword list, so the reading reflects the searches that actually matter to your revenue.
Is this the same as rank tracking?
No. Rank trackers watch positions in classic search. This watches who assistants cite in generated answers, which is a different surface with different mechanics, and often a different winner.
